Google like a big and powerful corporation, tends to make decisions is a website or a computer software safe or not. But Google’s methods are very strange.

Some time ago I found out I have much less traffic on my weblog than before. I was confused about this. I walked to google.com/webmaster and realized a simple thing: Google decided that I spread malware and blocked my weblog. So, when any surfer comes to my weblog from google search, it sees google’s message “hello. this is malware, virus and trojan. and we recommend you to not visit this website”. Of course, potential visitor just closes window and doesn’t visit the weblog.

Google has common solution for such cases. You should go to google webmaster tools and ask google to review the situation. So, I did it.

I did it, and silly message was removed by google. I was happy, but after some days I has exactly the same situation again. I’ve repeated solution, google removed silly message again. But after few days – exactly the same and this foolish message on malware and viruses again…

I have written to Google and tried to explain I am not spreading malware, viruses, trojans or any other unwanted stuff. And it was just wasting the time. Because of no reactions from Google.

Ok. I just removed from my weblog my software and also removed link on it. Next day Google removed its message.

So, I am very curious – why there are so many unwanted trashy materials in google search TOP but it can block you weblog just for fun?

How do civilizations form and cultures come to life? How were technologies invented and what were our ancestors capable of? How do we know if human development is ever increasing or not?

In ancient times, a lot of sophisticated cultures existed here on earth, each of them was advanced in its own way and distinguishable from the others by their specific customs, art and religion.

The present scientific notion is that ancient cultures have all evolved on their own. And relationships only existed between those, whose homelands were not separated by large waters, because long range sea travel (between continents) was impossible. Knowledge of astronomy, breathtaking construction techniques, religious beliefs, were all developed and invented several times from scratch, again and again. Because they were all isolated on their own continents, this notion is called isolationism.

The opposite view is that civilizations spread out over the oceans and brought their culture along. They were masters of navigation and boatbuilding and shaped new civilizations wherever they set foot ashore.

Science also tells us, the high level of knowledge, we often see (and mostly don’t understand), was restricted to certain persons in selected parts of the culture. Astronomy was known to many civilizations and observatories of varying kinds were build all over the globe, but only to predict the change of the seasons or for use in rituals.

But, what if things are not what we think they are? Could it be that people from different continents had contact and shared knowledge and thoughts? Did they have technology or mental and physical abilities we don’t know of?

Many people argue that the American pyramids are very much unlike the ones in Egypt. Almost every one of the well known pyramids in Mesoamerica has steps leading to the top (where usually a small temple was placed) and has no tunnels and chambers inside. In Egypt it is the other way around. Additionally, the timeframe doesn’t fit. The Egyptian pyramids at Gizeh are thought to be build around 2600 – 2500 BC by pharaohs of the 4th dynasty and the majority in America within the first millenium AD. But some facts must not be forgotten.

When we talk about pyramids, we usually associate this with the stunning marvels of plain beauty of Gizeh in Egypt, and in America we think of the richly decorated step-pyramids of the Aztecs, Maya and Toltecs. But in Egypt, pyramidbuilding included step-pyramids and continued up to the 17th dynasty and stopped around 1550 BC, and pyramidbuilding in Mesoamerica began much earlier, with the Olmecs. Thanks to the oil industry, nothing of that survived. The Olmec civilization started around 1500 BC, as far as we know now! Additionally, even older pyramids were found in Southamerica, build from adobe bricks.

These facts could be a good evidence of that situation, when ancient cultures (ancient people) were able to communicate with each other, to exchange culture and so on.

Yes, I believe we should spent money on space exploration. As it is said, we have been on the Moon. Our space devices have been at nearest distances of the Mars, Venus and other planets and space objects.

Are we alone in the universe? Scientists say that there is no intelligent life in the world except of us. On the other hand, how they can be so assured? As we think, the universe is endless. So it is just impossible if we were alone in the whole universe.

So, maybe there is an intelligent life somewhere in deep space. They might be unlike us. I suppose that is. Many of them might be friendly and others might be enemy.

Anyway, I think this is a good idea to explore the world around us. We can found new life, new objects. We can get new knowledge and discover new laws of the nature.

The one another cause of why we should go beyond the borders is amount of people. We are growing with every year. Many countries have a shortage of free territories fit for life: Japan, China and others. When some countries have lack of territory, they begin to pretend to another’s countries territories. It provokes wars and tense situations.

It is not a secret we have global warming, pollution and other bad demonstrations of ourselves actions. Every year we worsen our world. One day in the future we might get the point where it is just impossible to get back and to correct the situation. It would be apocalypse.

Thus, it may be a common interest of people to explore world around us and find another place fit to life where we would be able to live.

Our knowledge about structure of the world is negligible. We’re living on the Earth but we don’t know what occurs beyond Earth’s atmosphere. Every space objects lives by its own life and we cannot predict what exactly it will do. We even don’t know what occurs on the dark side of the Moon, nearest big space object to the Earth.

In other words, we just don’t know the world where we’re living.

In our usual life we often meet some strange cases which we cannot explain with our knowledge. I believe space exploring might give us new knowledge to explain our daily life and to look at it other eye.

To explore space is very expensive operation. Our spacecrafts fly to the space objects many years, and every fly is very expensive and long travel. Sometimes after several years only it might be clear that it was a mistake on the start and the spacecraft is on a different orbit.

So, we should spend our resources on space exploration. However, this is not a task for just some one country – this is a very big deal for all the people.

Close your eyes. You’re not here. Imagine you’re on a shore of a beautiful river. There is a green and tall forest behind you. It is warm and sunny. The river is calm and easy. Its waves are breaking the shore gently. You’re lying on the sandy shore. You see blue skies, wide blue skies. Nobody is around you. You’re closing you eyes. Relax your arms. Relax your legs. Calm down your breath. Your entire body is relaxed. You almost don’t feel your body. You’re at peace with the whole world. No thoughts, no troubles. The peace. You’re apart from your body. You’re flying above the river. It is beautiful. Your breath is calm and deep…

Now feel your body, feel you legs, arms and hands. You’re feeling warm sand and hearing the sound of water. Open your eyes.

I am lying on the sand. It is on an island in the middle of the ocean. The sand is warm and soft. My eyes are closed. I am relaxed. I hear sound from ocean’s waves. I like this sound. Waves touches me gentle. My arms, my legs are relaxed. If any thoughts comes in my head, they’re flying away to the skies. I feel I am at peace. My body is at peace. I imagine a bird in the sky. It is flying near the top of the skies. I feel like I am the bird. I see the world from this bird’s point of view. I see the island, the sun, the warm and soft sand and the gentle waves. Nobody around. Only my body is lying on the sand.

I am making some deep breathes. I feel my hands, my arms and my legs. I feel my body. I feel the sand and gentle waves. My breath is going faster. I feel happiness. I am at peace with whole world. I open my eyes. What a beautiful place…

Some years ago, we did not have cell phones, TV, computers and other devices we have today. Those days we were supposed to work physically in most cases. There was no email those days. So, if someone wanted to write a letter to someone, it has to be hand written and sent through the mail. After several days or even weeks, the letter came to the recipient.

Today we have many devices which make our life easier. Nowadays, many people don’t do any physical activity: they just are going to work, sitting there for several hours and then going to home. Many physical activities are substituted by mechanisms: cars, tractor, etc. So, we just don’t need to do much physical work.

This situation may look very comfortable. Therefore, one Greek philosopher said: “Life is activity”. So, such life style makes us unsatisfied.

People who have lack of physical activity just try to compensate it. They do bungee-jumping, diving, parachute jumping and so on.

Another cause of why people are attracted to taking risks is in our past. Our world in the past was a very dangerous place. Currently we are still prey for predators. Every outdoor trip was very dangerous and risky. I believe those days are still in our memory. We can do not realize it. We can do not understand it. Therefore, this is our past and our genetic memory stores information about those times.

So, many of our ancestors were hunters and warriors in the past. Today we have a much more comfortable life, but most of us still need to be a hunter, a warrior, etc. Because of that, someone is going to be a master in martial arts, someone will learn how to do parachute jumps, and someone will just dive into the deep ocean.

Of course, there are just crazy and insane people who can do unbelievable actions. I think in some cases there is just not sense and reasons. They do it because they like it. They like it because nobody else can repeat that or everybody are looking at them. They’re popular; they’re unique and not like everyone, etc. This people always do something other people may not do. If everyone will do diving or bungee-jumping, these crazy people will not have doing that – because everyone will be doing that. They will try to do something different.

Social networks can waste your time. One day an office worker notes he’s sitting all working day and reading and writing comments to his friends’ wall.

Clearly, benefits of such a worker becomes less and less. Particularly unstable people turns to social networks maniacs – they have accounts just in every social network in the internet. The morning begins with writing comments to friends’ new photos, grading new pictures, – and a half of a day is passed already.

So, he have a dinner… and then he notice: "Someone left a comment on your wall." And again… read “news”, comment pictures and so on and so on… So, a day is gone. So tired, but pleased with himself, an office worker going home…

What we have? The whole work day was just wasted in social networks.

Of course, employers tend to deal with such a demonstration of Internet addiction:

completely filtered social networks on the workplaces, so you just can not get to the Facebook or Myspace from your work PC

just disable the Internet in the workplaces

filtered favorite Web sites by time. For example, you can visit the Facebook at lunch time, but during business hours access will be denied

does not restrict technically access to social networks, but monitor access attempts . So, if an employee is caught "by the hand" while sitting in Facebook on his workplace, the punishment will be severe and rapid

Actually, it was a short introduction, and now the main point: what you can do if you are strong spirit person, you’re not susceptible to Internet addiction, and your employer has blocked your lovely social network?

There are many technical implementation of blocking access. Therefore, I can not ensure that proposed workarounds will work in your case. On the other hand, the proposed option works in most cases.

In a nutshell, the essence is simple: I suggest using a VPN (Virtual Private Network).

Sure, you can use a proxy, but it is much easier to block a proxy. Many employers blocks proxies just by default. In turn, VPN-connections are usually not blocked by employers.

How does it work?

find free VPN server (it can be not free, usually about $5 – $10 per month). A list of free VPN-servers can be found at the end of this article

set up VPN-connection on your PC

now, when you want to visit blocked Facebook (or any another social network), you just start your VPN-connection and surf the website

What are the nuances?

If you use a free VPN-server, then usually you have speed restrictions. So, for example, torrents downloading through such a connection just does not make sense. In addition, they can restrict time of connection using too. For example, connection might be dropped every 10 minutes and you need to reconnect it each time. On the other hand, it might be enough to visit your lovely social network. If you have a paid VPN, these problems usually do not happen.

If you enable VPN-connection at work, your whole internet traffic will run through this VPN-connection. In other words, absolutely all of the sites, corporate email, instant-messaging clients, Skype and other Internet applications will work through this VPN-connection. What’s the problem? – can you ask. The answer is simple:

when the VPN is connecting you will be dropped from all IM-clients

when VPN is connected, it might be impossible in some cases to use corporate email (it depends on your corporation’s network settings)

How to use VPN the right way?

The main goal is to put into VPN selected internet traffic only. So, your corporate email will work through the local network (or your local ISP) and selected websites only will be available through VPN.

To have a possibility of control which website should work through VPN, it is needed to tell your computer what sites should go through the VPN. Unfortunately, MS Windows has no regular opportunity to do that. To make the idea real, we need to use special computer software – Anseko Netcatcher. The program is shareware, but you can download trial version for free.

So, the program is downloaded and installed. Now set up the VPN, then bring up the property window of the connection, double click on Internet Protocol Version 4, click "Advanced" button. Remove "Use default gateway on remote network" and save:

Now you have configured and ready to use VPN-connection.

Next you need to properly configure Anseko NetCatcher, you have downloaded before:

after installing the program, run it

now you should know IP-address of the blocked social networking site. For example, the Facebook. To do this, open a command prompt (in Windows 7 it’s "Start – All Programs – Accessories – Command Prompt")

type in the command prompt ping facebook.com – you’ll see IP-address of the site – for example, 66.220.149.11

find your VPN-connection in netcatcher’s main window, select it and click on "On UP" button at the right

you’ll see a box with a black background. Write the following line
route add 66.220.149.0 mask 255.255.255.0 $ IP
as you can note, IP-address is the same you found out before, except the last digit – because it is equal to zero. That’s right way.

do this step for each site you need. Write lines "route …" each from new line

when you’ll typed all necessary IP-addresses, click "Apply" button on the right

when you’ll done, you can just close Netcatcher – it is not necessary to keep it running

Thus, you’ve set up a VPN-connection and have installed Netcatcher Pro. Also, you’ve save a list of sites that need to work through the VPN-connection.

Now, when you link-up the VPN-connection, NetCatcher Pro will redirect all internet traffic from websites you’ve chosen to the VPN automatically.
